Welcome to my dental practice website. I studied dentistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, graduating in 2005. Since April 2007, I have been running a private dental practice in Patras.

What can I do about teeth grinding during sleep?

Bruxism, otherwise known as teeth grinding, is a very common condition that occurs at night while sleeping and is related to stress, although it also has a hereditary basis. It can be treated by having a dentist make a bruxism splint, which we wear during sleep.
I have old black fillings, do I need to replace them?

From January 1, 2025, the use of dental amalgam has been banned throughout Europe (unless deemed absolutely necessary for the patient’s needs), without a replacement directive having been issued. However, we often replace old amalgam fillings (black fillings) with composite resin fillings (white fillings), either as a preventive measure due to wear and tear, or for aesthetic reasons.
Does going to the dentist hurt?
I have some health problems. Can I get my teeth fixed?

You should inform your dentist about any medical problems you have and any medication you are taking, and he will advise you on any precautions you should take before starting dental treatment or on any connection between your condition and your dental health, and vice versa.

What is periodontitis?

Periodontitis is a chronic disease of the gums and jawbone, which in advanced stages can lead to tooth loss. It has a microbial and hereditary basis, and is affected by smoking, as well as certain general health problems. You should visit your dentist, who can diagnose the condition with a clinical and radiographic examination and discuss treatment options with you.
Is dental treatment safe for pregnant women?

Unless there is an urgent need, it would be better to avoid dental treatment during the first trimester of pregnancy. The ideal time for complete dental treatment is at the beginning of the second trimester (14th to 20th week), always with the consent of your gynecologist.
Do I absolutely have to take out my wisdom teeth?

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the last teeth in the jaw, and as long as they have come through in the right position and are cleaned properly, they do not need to be extracted. However, they are often associated with various pathological conditions of the jaws, cause pain, do not have enough space to erupt properly, and increase the risk of damage to the front teeth, in which case their removal is recommended.
